Prepay money randomly disappearing from Oyster Card !?!?

Hi,
has anyone had the problem where you top up Oyster, make journeys, which are charged correctly then find that you have far less left on Oyster card?
E.g. say you topped up £20, made only two journeys (correctly) costing £2 each, then your current balance is say £1.

This has happened several times on one oyster card, and now i notice it on a new card. Tfl's email help do nothing and wait till your complaint reaches enough days such that your journey history is removed. Although i have some of the oyster usage statements (& in one case photgraphs of the topup machine a I couldn't get a statement) but perhaps its happened more often.

Has anyone been able to resolve this?
thanks for any help:j

Would a print out from the station help?

I get those to submit expense claims and they are always up to date, even if I get one as I leave the station at the end of the journey.

sure, i thik thats what i mean by Oyster usage statement, i have some but it could have happened more times than that, you see, many stations dont have staff so i cant always get one, until i realised you can view it on prepay machine, but not print so i photoed it once
& according to their email help, this problem doesnt actually happen yet i've had it on two cards now, wonder if anyone else gets it...

No, I've never had the problem.

You can view your usage (8 weeks worth I think) online at the Oyster site. You have to register it and possibly make an online topup.
