I'll check it out, but I don't think the garage I bought this car from is a member. Well you live and learn I guess. :rolleyes:0

garage not a member by the looks of it.0

Contact the previous owner about the wheel key, they may have hidden it in the car somewhere and it would be a good excuse to ask them about the car / mot etc.
If you have no luck with the salesman tell him that you will sit outside the garage and tell any prospective customers of your plight. You're Damned If You Do & You're Damned If You Don't.0 -
Well I'll send a letter to the last person named on the log books, and see if I get a reply.
As for sitting outside the garage. I ain't that bothered to be honest lol, but thanks for the tip0 -
If you're really worried about the MoT there's 2 ways to check it - the hpi check on the RAC website costs about £25 and when we checked our car we were able to check the MoT serial numbers matched. Alternatively you could ring VOSA (I think the number is on the back of the certificate) and ask them to check the serial number. I can see why you're unhappy with the service you've received, but I don't understand why you think the MoT could be dodgy.0

I'm not saying it is definatly dodgy, but when I originally spoke with the salesman before any money talk, he did say he would carry out a service and mot. Seems what he meant was, the mot was carried out in October 2005, as opposed to his garage carrying out a new mot in January when I bought the car.0 -
Just not as full an MOT as you would have liked. I know what you mean.0

Sorry it's just this post gave me the impression that you thought the actual MoT might be dodgy.the_devil_made_me_do_it wrote:The salesman has said he will stamp the service log, but he's adamant I ain't getting a MOT. The MOT that was carried out by the previous owner runs out in Oct 2006. But who's to say it isn't a dodgy test.
Sounds like the salesman has been a bit selective in remembering what you agreed!0 -
Yeah he seems to think it's ok to offer me a test carried out in October, when we had disscused that a new mot would be carried out before I took the car home.
I'm going to the garage on Monday, to get a few bits sorted, I'll bring this up again then. Probs won't make much difference, but at least he'll get the message. I'll check what the terms and conditions are on the warrenty he gave me, and maybe sting them for a few jobs.0
