BEWARE Onetel Fiddle Fees £3.50 and £7.50 for not alerting you abt an expired card

This has never happened before to me with ANY OTHER COMPANY, EVER, but Onetel (now owned by TalkTalk) takes the affrontery biscuit here.
- At some point in time my Credit Card got replaced, it was in use as an auto payment method to Onetel.
- Onetel kept sending the standard View My Bill emails month after month after this expiry but no special message at all by email or snail mail to warn of the card expiry.
- Now many months later they send a letter sticking me with a £3.50 + a £7.50 fees for "Administration".

Didn't you think of telling them the card had expired and updating the details in your Onetel account? Do you rely on other organisations to advise you that your card is about to expire? I've never been advised by a payee that my card is to expire. Onetel really have a cheek not telling you that YOUR card was about to expire.
It's surely your responsibility not theirs.0 -
There may be up to 10 auto card payments on various services that I have...
The card may be stopped or reissued at any time by the card provider. Yes, I do expect (if I have set up online billing for example) to be sent an email immediately that a payment request to card failed, that's what computers are for. Several other services not only do send me an immediate notification but also do not sting me for a £7.50 charge.
I have just found out that Onetel have quietly changed their system so that if you have auto payments via a card, you'll be charged a monthly fee of £3.50 (not email notification of this change either...). Only Direct Debit is free.
If only all companies were like 18185 for example, bulletproof and satisfactory billing system by comparison and no fiddle fees ever.
Now looking for an alternative provider to Onetel. Can anyone suggest a dial-up internet service that costs less than 2p/min during office hours?0
