We're in a hotel - everything done there. It's a 14th century gatehouse tho with a church on site. We're trying to decide whether we can justify a blessing there after (i'm religious, my OH isn't) but i'll live if we don't
Other exciting news - we picked up the save the date cards this weekend. We designed them and a friend finalised the design and got them printed onto magnets for us (wouldn't let us pay either) and they are fab! I LOVE them! We now have one taking pride of place on our fridge (like we'd forget lol)
Also got the groom and groomsmens suits picked out this weekend but am having MAJOR headaches with the BM dresses.
Just booked the venue decoration too.
It's all coming together now
SK xAfter 4 years of heartache, 3 rounds of IVF and 1 loss :A - we are finally expecting our miracle Ki11en - May 2014 :j

Those shoes are lovely Nic.So what kind of ceremony are you ladies having? We're havinga church wedding in our local parish. We're going the whole hog and having bells, church and choir. It's a bit of a random church - the choir sit at the back, and then there's 2 huuuuuge pillars along the aisle. So big that when I walk with my dad (and husband!) down the aisle, we have to separate and walk either side of the pillars lol. And I think I'm gonna have to squeezt to get past with my dress lol.
It sounds wonderful Sammy, I would have loved to get married in a church. I'm just having a civil cermony, a main meal with the disco in the evening.
Is anyone else finding it hard to get quotes for flowers? i really want calla lillies and my local florists don't seem very helpfulCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Hi guys,
How far is everyone with their planning? I went to a wedding fair yesterday and a few of the people at the stalls said i was leaving it too late to get everything. Even though only got engaged Christmas Day I thought I had plenty of time, Slightly worried now but dont know if they were just being funny :oS0 -
Hi Val,
People do seem to book things up quite far in advance. We got engaged on Valentine's Day last year and booked the church and venue not long after.
Mind you, I still need to sort out flowers, mens suits, my shoes, hair & make up, cake, invites, table decorations... Crikey, quite a bit lol
Just a thought. I was at work today and a group of us were talking about my wedding, and my boss piped in that he expects me to be pregnant not long after  Now this isn't the first time someone's said that! I know I'm pushing on a bit now and it's something that we always thought we'd do in the future - but it seems that the future is now here lol. We have 2 friends who have just had babies, and it seems like people expect us to start trying straight away  Has anyone else had this??0 -
val84 - I got married last August and other than booking the venue and the registrar I did nothing until the beginning of January when i ordered my dress - you have plenty of time to sort things - most things were sorted out about 3 months before and our day was fantastic - don't worry.
sammy_girl - weddings and babies seem to go together 2 of last August's MSE brides are expecting - definitely not me :rotfl:. Even my mother asked me if we were getting married to have kids - I was 40 at the time and we already have 4 between us the oldest is 19  I was too shocked to answer :rotfl:Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I have been asked if I am pregnant because we are getting married soon. Everyone knows I want kids but my OH has told me Im not allowed to start planning babies till at least a year after the wedding but Im only 24 so I suppose I have plenty of time, Plus Im a bridesmaid at my brothers wedding next year so prob best I dont get pregnant before that!
Thanks for all your help btw, I know where Im getting everything from and who I want for make and stuff its just getting the money to pay deposits but we have booked the venue and registrar and given our notice so even if I have to get married in Jeans and trainers I can still get married. lol0 -
