Tiscali Offer And 1899.com

Hi all

I had a phone call last night from Tiscali, as I am a customer would I like to take advantage to the free weekend call offer. They will get in touch with BT and sort this out. I still pay line rental to BT but any call charges used in the week will be billed by Tiscali.

I am wondering if this is worth going for now. I said yes last night, but can I still use 1899 in the week and still get low calls that way, then take advantage of the free calls on the weekend.

Anyone out there tried this?

Very doubtful if they will let you use 1899, 1886 or 18185.

As long as your line rental is still going to be billed by BT then yes.

Looking at the Tiscalli site, then yes you can still use 1899, as the Tiscalli service is a CPS service and not a WLR service, which as you state you will still be paying BT for line rental.

Though Primus 2 offer free evening and weekend calls again via CPS so you can use 1899 during the day, and 18185 for mobiles.

Yes, many people have tried this, though not just with Tiscalli, most people on this forum use a CPS provider for the free calls and then 1899 / 18185 for other calls, there is a article about doing so here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1095003038,99872, Until I dropped the phone line this was what I was doing for 2 years.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

How they going to stop them? This is a CPS service, the line rental is still with BT, and is what most people do, use a CPS service for the free and cheaper calls, and then 1899, 18185 etc for the other calls that are cheaper than the CPS.

If its free calls your after, instead of free 01/02 weekend with Tiscali.,why not get free 01/02 evening & weekend calls with Primus Saver.Still keeping your peak 01/02 calls with 1899,which you can still use.

Then their is Tiscali notorious customer service to consider !!!

Yes, I did mention Primus yesterday, I think I'd rather have the free evening AND weekend calls, instead of just weekend calls.

I'm CPS with Onetel on a BT line at present. If I wanted to go to Primus, do I just contact Primus and leave the rest to them? I don't need to speak to Onetel first?

Just sign up with Primus. They will deal with OneTel/BT and arrange a Transfer date.
  • I currently pay BT for line rental and use One Tel for free local and evening calls. I am thinking of going for Tiscalli's broadband offer of £19.99 that includes 24/7 local/national calls. Will I still be able to use 1899 for mobiles, etc??
  • As your calls will connect via CPS you will have no restriction in using other Indirect Access providers such as 1899.
