If roamingmobile and billingnetwork = "vodafone uk" and restrictcredit = true set creditlimit = "100"
if credit > 0 docall else exit
no restrictcredit field? well why not? they have a field to tell them if roaming is allowed so have one to say what the credit limit is.
No credit restriction by default? why the heck not?0 -
I'd try to get them to accept a modest amount (£30?) per month, and make it clear that this is on account while you appeal and not acceptance of any agreed settlement. At least then, they won't present the whole thing to collection agencies, and should continue negotiating.0

These insurance policies should be banished to the depths of history. What is the point of having it if it doesnt cover unauthorised use?
Its like having car insurance which would not pay out if you wrote your car off, it only does half a job and its not worth the money or hassle.
A few suggestions appear to be good ideas,
1 Contact your MP.
2 Speak to trading standards and ask their advice
3 Accept the 50% goodwill gesture and make a nominal offer of £30 - £50 per month and then appeal.
4 Speak to Otello (whilst actioning the above).
5 Contact the insurance ombudsman and lodge a complaint with them over the level of insurance you have been provided with.
I hope you get things resolved, remember contrary to some information above "vodafone will reserve the right to restrict service for any reason" They are not legally responsible to do so.
They have a duty to act responsibly when giving credit but thats as far as it goes. They do not have to monitor individual usage. The best things in life are for FREE!!!If you like what you see and find this info useful, please use the thanks button. It costs nothing and means so much.0 -

Sorry to read your story. I don't know anything about the legal side but I have always found in cases like this (albeit, no so much money involved), that companies seem more 'helpful' when you adopt the following . . .
Write to the Chief Executive of Vodafone laying out exactly the sequence of events. If Vodafone can't, or won't change their mind, offer them some FREE publicity on BBC1 Watchdog, local and national radio stations, daily national newspapers and any consumer magazines that carry Vodafone advertising. Not guaranteed to work - but you've got nothing to lose.
GOOD LUCK and if all else fails, consider doing a sponsored run! (Joke)0
