Who to call to move a gas meter

Check with yoour electricity supplier before you touch the electricity meters as it may appear that you are trying to tamper with them - approach it the same way as the gas meters.
Thanks for that. I trust my electrician 100% and we have talked about how to move them. They are all on a board and can be shifted in situe IYSIM without tampering with the meters just lifting the floorboards to move the supply up. Not being a sparky that's how understand it so the meters themselves will not be touched.
TBH, the meter installers and YEDL should never have installed them where they are. I am in half a mind to call them back as I am sure they could be resited without the need to move the gas meters and I will never understand why they put them where they did. They are dangerous because tenants need to get furniture like sofas up the stairs and the stairs are narrow and the fuses are sticking out on the wall up stairs.
I have the same arrangement next door and have them all fitted behind a meter cupboard on one wall which is tidy, neat and safe. However, in this house the gas meters were there first and have been for years and the elec meters were a recent thing as there were none.
It is a disaster and a meter cupboard is not even close to being possible with this arrangement.0 -
Moving the meter board and meter is the responsibility of the meter operator or the distributor not your local electrician. You could find yourself accused of tampering or finding your supplier sending out the meter operator to check the installation.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
