Did you get a quote first? Have they had to do some unexpected work?

It seems a bit much to me as I paid less than half of that but it was 2 years ago. I did get a letter from them with an estimate of their charges.

How much were you originally quoted?

What extras have now appeared and how much?

Why are the extras there if you had not originally agreed to them or been informed of any compliactions regarding extra work?

we wernt quoted anything it was just a sheet from the estate agents, saw the fixed fee was roughly £680 then other fees adding to roughly 900. i dont have exact details on me my partner just rang and told me the total cost.
  • That's a monster bill.

We received our's just before Christmas - we were originally quoted £850, which I thought was a lot, but we needed to complete quickly, so needed a solicitor who would answer the telephone, post letters in good time etc.

She was good and explained where extra charges might be accrued, in the end the bill was £550 - not sure what yours have done that's cost an extra grand. I'd be interested to know tho.

Check your Terms and Conditions and the small print of your quote and see if these fees were quoted initally and check they match with your bill.
