thank you i do appreciate this!

no the baliff has never entered thehouse before this is the 1st i have heard of them even coming near my property!

Good because unless it is a fine or they have got court permission (which you have to be served) they are not allowed into the house unless you let them in.

This prevents tham doing a levy, or walking possession order, which reduces the charges they are allowed to make.

make sure all the doors and windows arew locked, teach you child not to open the door under any circumtances and if you have not got it sorted before they ttunr up, they can do very little except sit there in the rain.

  • so would you advise me to not try and find the money for this - as obviously its going to get me in more debt with people/family.

I dont open the door unles someone has planned and told me they are coming as there was some trouble down our road while ago, who someone entered there house and terrorised them basically, very scary thought!

is there anything else you can advise at all? will CAB be able to help or contact them for me as im a wreck!

    Hi

Just saw the comment on the car - move it. or better still "sell" it to a family member and get the documents posted tomorrow.

    What I am hoping is

    1. Herbie can call off the mobster you have spoken to. She is very good.

    2. We will discover that you are entitled to some CT benefit, now or in the past.

You say you are newly single. I presume the ex is also liable for part of this debt?

    Thnaks for the clarification.

Get hold of herbie tomorrow, refer her here, or email her from the web-site - sorry it is a tenner but she has to fund her work.

Get hold of CCCS as well and check why you are not getting CTB and did not get it previously (even when you were on mat leave?) Did you get single persons allowance at the previous house?

And "sell" that car pronto. Talk to your family tonight

this debt is from my previous property,!

Did you get single persons reduction for this property? is the liability order based on full cost or single person's reduction?

  • hello all,

thank you so much for your replies, i have been round the mill abit today which i didnt need to do, firstly went CAB they rang Equita but Equita said it was to be dealt with by the baliff, CAB then directed me onto the council which i went to and was told all i could do was use their phone to call the baliff (i can do this at home). Then i went to Equita directly and was told the same thing and i got told the same as i did on the phone that i had to deal with the baliff direct and there was nothing they can do. So i called up Mr baliff and pleaded my case to which he replied could i call back after 6pm which is when he would have my case details.

I have since again phoned Mr Baliff and he was actually very nice, he said that he can see from my account that i had missed no payments and had paid over £700 already to Equita, and he will return the case to them tomorrow morning and for me to continue with my payments as usual.

i am so relieved about this, but did appreciate your comments towards my post.

just thought id let you all know what happened and to let you know they are not all that bad if you know you are in right!!!

    Many thanks
