avira pop up...anyway to stop it

ive downloaded avira to my comp , seems fairly good excpet i get the odd random pop up advertising a paid version upgrade
can i stop that anyhow

What Vn of Windows are you using?
With XP Professional and Vista Ultimate(?) you can set a policy to prevent the popup program from running. Such policies are not available with XP Home and Vista Home.
Here is the link the the workaround if you have relevant Vn of Windows.

Try to run the following command secpol.msc
If it says not found then the fix will not work on your Vn of Vista, if it opens up the Security Policy window, then follow the XP Prof instructions.0 -
Is it the free version of Avira?
If it is, the pop ups occur when you recieve an update.0 -

I have the free version, when I get an update a popup occurs asking if I want to upgrade to a paid version.0 -
