Fake DVD website warning!!

I discovered a website today whilst searching for a good price for a DVD boxset my girlfriend wanted. The site is 'dvdsetpro.com', I thought I would make people aware as I established it was probably not safe to use, firstly by the odd looking pictures they have for the box set covers which made me think 'fake' and secondly by doing a little research.. I have very little knowledge of the construct of websites but I know that most will have an 'about us' page and a 'terms and conditions', 'contact us' and 'privacy policy' somewhere about the site. This site has none of these things which should sound alarm bells. Also on looking through Google search results for their website address I found various posts on unrelated forum sites, attempting to promote the website I presume. They all use very bad english, another telling sign aside from the fact the posts are unrelated.
I concluded it best to warn as many as possible before people fell fate to this fake dvd website, risking the loss of money and waste of their time.
Just to recap, dvdsetpro.com = website selling FAKE dvds
Please don't be fooled by the amazing prices, we must remember, anything too good to be true probably is!

I'm not covering for them or anything, but there are contact phone numbers under the 'help' section, though it's a bit wierd having US & UK (Birmingham)numbers. They say they are EBay refugees which could either mean that they got kicked out or they just wanted away from EBay's latest strictures. I haven't gone further to see if they have secure payment systems or anything but I think you may be being a bit unfair on them.
Having said that I certainly won't be buying from them as I'm also a firm believer in the 'too good to be true' attitude, but I'm also a small businessman myself so I prefer to delve a bit deeper before writing off something as a total scam...0 -
Tallymanjohn,
May I bring your attention to another thread about 'dvdsetshop.com' which I think sounds pretty similar. Whether these places/websites have phone numbers or not I think is perhaps irrelivant. Copied DVDs are illegal and will no doubt also disappoint in terms of quality. I thought consumers should be warned as not everyone has the foresight to think these things through before making a purchase from such websites. I never said the website was a scam, I simply warned of the facts. I have every sympathy for small business owners, infact I work for a company which is dedicated to supporting them so I would never write off anybody without good evidence.0 -

No, you told us your suspicions - you have no hard 'facts'0 -

This is clearly someone at it by the OPs postings on this company.
I foresee lots of new posters telling us how they had no problems and the goods are brillant.0 -
i was online searching for any reason not to buy from dvdsetshop.com as i'd seen the 24 boxset series 1-6 for a damn cheap price - ie, too good to be true. so i was reading these boards, came across people talking about dvdsetpro.com. i went to it, definately same people. same stories, same design only in a different colour and same functions, offers to chat to customer service etc. so put both into whois.domaintools.com and they are registered in bejing on the same day from different ip's by different made up names. i guess thats more sites to add to the scammer sites definately!!!0

Just came across the dvdsetshop and thought I was on to a bargain, I registered, put in my delivery address and was about to complete the purchase when I noticed there was no padlock or letter S after http in the web address to denote it was a secure site!
lucky escape I think having read the earlier posts, though I suspect I will get spammed0 -

Take a look for yourself, its obvious. Do you really need more than that? The evidence is on many other forums and reports similar to those posted here. There are things you look for to trust websites.
Its a pitty you wish to provoke an argument with a stranger.
Suspicion or fact, the evidence is clear for anyone who knows what to look for.0
