When i look on the website, all it has is pictures of women, no men in there.
Is the distance only 5k? I was looking for things to do for 2009, and distances of 10k plus to start with, as i run over 5k 3times a week.
Yeah it is, but the also do a mixed 10k race for life I think. I was gonna do the one in Sept last year at Hapmton Court.0 -

My Mum did it last year and she was really hassled the other night on the phone by a guy who rang up on behalf of cancer research he wanted her to sign up to £20 a month, she is retired, so he said ok £10 a month...now I know we've got hard times at the moment, and charities are one of the worse off this time of year but there is no need to hard sell giving money to charity, who you give to is our choice and she said we'd just give more and sponsor ourselves more for our next race for life.... I wouldn't mind but he's taking money from the charity being paid to call up....it makes you feel guilty but his approach was not the best!!
I got a call christmas week quite late in the evening from cancer research. It`s the second one I`ve received. I was very annoyed with the agent and told her that they are never to ring me again as I do race for life and I was not happy being hassled by them. I will always donate to cancer research but don`t need to be pressured into doing it.0 -

I too got one of these calls and was even told how much they were getting paid to carry out the research. Can't remember the exact figure but it was a HUGE amount. I was outraged.Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
I did race for life last year... the 5km version. I wasn't a runner before but I started in January and built up slowly. My race was in July and I kept up the running afterwards. I'm going for the 10km version this summer!0

Im going to do it again this year

finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!0 -
Hey... good for you finallydebtfree... running or jogging its great. On the actual day of my race it was the hottest of 2008 a scorching 31 degrees. Running was difficult in the heat but the energy of the day and other people really helped and I beat my previous personal best. I was the 23rd person through the end arch out of about 2000 but obviously we didn't all start at the same time so its not a true position.
Best of luck, and keep going even if you have jelly legs!0 -
