I`ll be doing it. I had a friend who died when she was 30 three years ago. She`d battled cancer since she was 19 so I`ll be doing it every year for as long as I can.

I hope to this year, I have never done it before, but wanted to! I need to lose weight so I though this would be a good incentive to, and even better raising money for a good cause!! :j

It`s a really good atmosphere, though it is sad reading all the messages that folks put on the back of their tshirts. I find it a pain trying to collect the money so I use the just giving page.
  • I am going to this year, have done 2 years at the city of london and 1 year at regents park...

My Mum did it last year and she was really hassled the other night on the phone by a guy who rang up on behalf of cancer research he wanted her to sign up to £20 a month, she is retired, so he said ok £10 a month...now I know we've got hard times at the moment, and charities are one of the worse off this time of year but there is no need to hard sell giving money to charity, who you give to is our choice and she said we'd just give more and sponsor ourselves more for our next race for life.... I wouldn't mind but he's taking money from the charity being paid to call up....it makes you feel guilty but his approach was not the best!!

I have done Race for Life for the past 2 years, I lost my sister at the age of 28 to cervical cancer in June 2006. I shall be doing this race every year for as long as they carry it on.

Yes ! We (friends and I) have been hassled by Cancer Research too, we did the RfL last year and got quite a good total, but it's really put us off. My friend's son has a rare form of bone cancer, he's 18 tomorrow and finds out the results of this year's treatment on Monday, Horrible. Anyway I know they need the money but they have been really bullish about it, Will prob still give to a cancer charity but I'm really not sure whether it will be them or not, sadly. Good luck to all who take part though :D

Is the RFL just for women.?

When i look on the website, all it has is pictures of women, no men in there.

Is the distance only 5k? I was looking for things to do for 2009, and distances of 10k plus to start with, as i run over 5k 3times a week.
