I thought that once kids of different sexes were over 8 years old, they had to have separate rooms...? (not criticising you, just might be worth pointing out to the HA people)

How about a neutral theme (i.e. not overtly "boyish" or "girly")? Colours such as yellow, green, orange etc. Or if you're looking for a theme, how about something like the seaside, or jungle, or animals? You could get a couple of those massive pinboards, and let them have one each to stick whatever they want on it.

i think it's once they r 10 they have to separate diff genders

  • Many thanks.

I'll look on that website, looks good.

I think I will do a neutral and then try seperating it out a bit with bits.

    I need imagination

I would paint it white and add lots of accessories such as red or blue gingham. Patchwork quilts which have all colours on and not stick to a particular colour at all. They will love it and if you put mozzie nets above their beds, they can close off their space.

There was a site detailing a brother/sister room here which might give you some ideas. I'm not sure if its boyish and girlish enough for me to be honest, but it might help!

    and www.housetohome.co.uk

    Provide quite good ideas too.

I like this idea of personalising the space around the bed with the zig zag effect

  • Many thanks. Some great sites.

I have made a short list on the house to home site, but can't find how to view it

    Great ideas. :T

I'm assuming you have registered and activated?

Go into scrapbook on the right hand side of the home page, enter your email address and password to login.

Select either your inbox or project.

The site is a bit up and down at the moment I noticed so perhaps that was the problem?

How about making a princess style bed? I have seen very cheap muslin used to make drapes from a frame (metal coat hanger?) attached to the ceiling. My friends little girl was over the moon with hers which had sequins sewn onto it. You can also but mosquito nets which can have a similar effect.
