recieved this today at work from our resources team.

Afternoon all,

Please can you inform all your agents that if they commit to working at least 4 hours overtime on Saturday they will be able to work overtime on Sunday. We will not be giving overtime out to anybody on Sunday unless they commit to working 4 hours or more on Saturday.

There are no incentives over and above the standard time and half Saturday and double time on Sunday.

Many thanks

just though i would share this because i could not beleive they really sent it out:mad:

So how is this your answer to why you can never speak to BG'?
Most of the lines are shut on Sundays anyway, and this will encourage the people who want the double time to work when customers are calling.

So only those who provide sexual favours to the team leaders or who support the correct football team should be permitted to work overtime?

What's wrong with offering incentives to those who want to work unsocial shifts? Surely that's preferable to allowing favoured wastrels to swan-in on Sundays to make up for week-day [STRIKE]shopping trips[/STRIKE]dental appointments?

there are only 2 lines closed on a sunday thats upgrade and customer relations

How will this encourage people to work? as stated before most people like to have there weekends off but they are holding you to ransom surley it would be better to offer overtime on both days rather than the way they have done it. all you acheive from doing this is people will just say NO thanks dont mind doing sunday but cant do saturday so therefore won't do any. would it not be best to just open it up to everyone??? Just before i left work tonigh only 2 people out of nearly 300 agreed to do it, and resources where sat wondering why no one is taking overtime

Sorry - was thinking energy not services.
If they offered the same rate of pay on both days they probably would treat them the same, but ther're always people who would work the Sunday only, just for the double time.

Maka, even though insightful I'd be very careful as you shouldn't be posting sensitive internal emails from your company, this would be in breach of your terms of employment.

This sort of policy has existed in other industries like construction for years. It is designed to stop people avoiding the low rate overtime whilst working the premium rate overtime.
