My computer has been unplugged whilst it was on, and now I am getting the message,
we apologize but windows did not start successfully...
choose one of the options below..one of which is start windows normally. But when I choose this option, although it tries to restart and the windows logo appears for a few seconds, it then reverts back to the same error page as above.
Is there anything I can do to fix the problem.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
Thank you

or safe mode?0

Thanks, I have just tried both of those options but it is still reverting to the error page as above. Any other things I could try?0

Have you got your Windows CD?0

Try this:
start your pc, press f10, it will start system recovery follow the instructions0 -
No, I haven't got the windows disc and I have switched it off from the back, and on again and pressed F10 but nothing happens, it just keeps reverting to the same error message..help, I'm getting really worried now.0

Take any CD/DVD's, USB drives out.
What were you doing when it was switched off? If it's XP and not starting up them I'm surprised it's not starting properlyIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -
Start the PC up in safe mode... when you get to the desktop shut down and try a normal bootup. This gives it a chance to automatically repair it's registry and should hopefully clear this message.0

Do you get the option to go to a command prompt - if so does it work ?0
-
When I choose safe mode from the options, it does not go to the desktop, it keeps reverting back to the original error page. The only way I can restart it, is by either pushing the button on the front to re-boot or switching it off at the back.
No, I don't get the option for a command prompt, only the first error message as in my first post.
I was on the net when it was unplugged, and there were no cd or dvds in it, the only usb device is the mouse.0
