Hopefully we should find out tomorrow. We're going to Hatton Garden as I have 4 "departed" relatives' wedding bands and hoping to have them melted down to make 2 rings for me and H2B. I'm hoping that it won't cost anymore than £500 for both as this is what I have budgeted

    Thats lovely.

Ours were 10 shilling each:rotfl: :rotfl:

Only joking its not that long ago:D

Can't remember. Mine is 18 ck gold, plain heavy weight d shapped ring, about 5 mm. Hubbys is same but in 9 ck (harder than 18 ck) & I think 10 mm. His is size Z, widened 3 sizes extra, its like something in a plumbers tool box:rotfl:

We have our names & the date inside.

Is this a plain gold/platinum band?

I thought you would need diamonds in it to cost so much:confused:

its a bit like an eternity, its a plain band with diamonds along the one edge.
I went ring shopping in cardiff last week, tried loads on but didnt like any of them. I went to my local jewellers and asked to see the wedding rings and its perfect!

    Hi MrsE,

Iknow this is a really stupid question, but is your D shaped ring, shaped like the letter D?????? I only ask as one of the rings in "my collection" is D shaped and I just thought it was mis-shapen. Maybe it is lol

What would be the benefit of a D shaped ring Vs a O shaped ring?

Its round, but if you were to slice it open, it would look like this from the side D

Flat against the skin, but curved where it goes around.

I think its the most common type of wedding ring.
