Hi everyone
Got a prob with avast. The last 3 mornings when turning computer Avast runs and says usual been updated etc, but I can't get into internet, or any programme on desktop its like computer has frozen. I have to switch it off and start again. I noticed last time avast updated to newer programme it went a bit funny, but didn't last. Do you think I should uninstall it and install again, as maybe it didn't install properly. Thanx

It isn't uncommon for an antivirus update to have problems as you have said you can uninstall and reinstall or revert it back to the previous update.0

I stopped using avast because of this. Try avira, its better IMO.You can't keep a good man down...0

Try booting your computer into Safe Mode, it will boot your computer in a specific way that won't load drivers, software etc that might be causing an issue.
When you turn it on, press F5 or F8 and then you should have the option to start Safe Mode with Networking. Click that and when you're into Windows, see if you can go online..0 -

Guess so. They seem to be a rush to get updates out which invariably fall flat on their noses
Strikes me as either poor management or some loss in the skill base. The perception of Grisoft has changed with AVG 8 and it wouldn't surprise me if there's been a drastic falling in the number of paying subscribers and they've have to make cutbacks.0 -
Thanx for all your replies I uninstalled/reinstalled yesterday. Same thing this morning. So I've uninstalled it again. Shall I get Avira from the geeks site can't find it on PC Mags site
Ooops just seen a big thing for all antivirus on here. Trouble is with you lot your so helpful that there about a million questions etc everyday so have to read back about 10 pages to see what helps been given. You can tell I've a lot of time on my hands cant you.0
