We are with just dial, for evening and weekend calls.
Should we change to primus now, or wait and see if just dial close evening and weekend calls to existing customers too?

I'd wait but, as I'm with Primus, that's easy for me to say.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

I've been with tele2 for 12 months and have come to the end of 12 months free evening and w/end calls to 01/02 nos. Not sure of the outcome of the Carphone Warehouse on Tele2 ("we will be writing to you in the New Year" - but nothing heard yet).....so to-day signed up with Primus Option 2.
My first impressions are good - contact with their customer services.
How have you found Primus overall??......call quality, billing accuracy, Customer Services response etc etc0 -
Can't comment on billing accuracy yet because I've not had one yet ('go live' was 2/12/05 and we were away for Christmas so I assume a minimal balance is the reason).
OTOH, I was on OneTel and have to admit that I miss the ability to view a list of 'Unbilled Calls' online (the OneTel list even showed those which were free).
However, with 1899 for daytime 01/02 calls, 18185 for calls to mobiles and Spain and a dormant 18866 account, I don't see my Primus bills ever being large. All calls to date have been crystal clear although my wife has experienced a double beep in the earpiece (not Call Waiting, we don't have that and not low batteries) a few minutes into some of her evening calls. Just annoying (and unexplained) but, as the calls are free, no real problem.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Dial-Thru numbers such as those beginning 0844, 0870, 0871 you are charged as soon as you hit the system where it asks you to dial your destination number, so you will be charged whilst that destination is ringing out or busy.
In-direct numbers such as 1899 and 18185 you are only charged when connected to the destination number either when they answer the call or when 1571/answerphone/voicemail answers the call.
This is why I am not keen on dial-thru numbers and only use if there is a huge difference in price. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
