Tried for days to install wireless Dynamode router (using wires) to talk talk broadband. Wiring ok but rest wont connect. Re wired to talk talk normal router again.
Thought about yes actually paying someone to do it for me
If I rewire it again ready how much should it cost for someone to get it connected wireless .
Any recommendations for the Wirral area ?

are you saying that you cant connect ia a wireless connection but you can via a cat5 cable which is attached to the router direct.
post in the tech forum if you want an asnwer to the above0 -
I've got a Dynamode wireless router BR-6004W-G-N brought at Xmas to go with my kids laptops so that they didn't hog my desktop. All was going well until last week when it all went off. I called our ISP (Virgin media) who did all sorts of checks, the last being to take out the wireless router and plug into desk top directly. Needless to say this worked, so we are back to square one with no wireless. I've tried to get onto the website supporting the wireless router http://192.168.0.1/ but I just get a page load error.
I was wondering if any one else had experienced this and how it might be resolved?
Help please, I'm not very good with this stuff and it's just driving me mad.0 -
If you think there is a problem in the wireless setup on the router, make a temporary connection using an ethernet/network cable. Get it working OK with wires on the laptops, then you know it can only be a problem with the wireless connection. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Just checked another page and it says use 192.168.2.1 to get into the config page of the router. If this does not work you could try the rest button on the router to put it back to factory defaults. If you do get into the config page it might be worth seeing if you can update the firmware of the router. Actually just looked on the dynamode support page and it says use 192.168.1.1 to get into the config. user and password both admin. Looking at their web site they make no mention of firmware updates. Good Luck and let me know how you get on.0 -

I hope this helps http://www.talktalkmembers.com/content/view/90/68/ I know this is for a different router (Netgear) but the basic settings will still apply to your router as well. The most important thing is that your router logs onto the adsl line correctly. I presume there will be a adsl light on the modem which should stay on. Let me know if this is any help.0 -
Hi thanks for replying, I've tried all that you suggested and more, but still no luck. We've been on holiday so came back to it with fresh brain, just to be scrambled again. I've found a tech support for dynamode so have emailed them. Fingers crossed.0

Not sure if this any help from another forum
Cable modems and routers must be turned on in a specific way. First, unplug both the router and modem. Next, plug the ethernet cable from the modem, into the cable router, and unplug the cable from the modem to the computer. Next, turn on the modem, and wait for all of the lights to stay static (usually there's 4 lights, the main one we're interested in, is the status light). Next, plug in and turn on your router. You should now be able to access the router and configure it for your internet connection.
If you can not get the dynamode working with VM I can recommend the Netgear 624 wireless router. I bought one yesterday and now have it running. It was quite easy to setup and there seems to be a lot more tech support online for Netgear. best of Luck.0 -
Having contacted VM, they have discontinued all dynamode products as they have had several complaints such as mine and they have offered to refund my router. Netgear here I come.
Thanks for your advice.0 -

Thanks for your advice.
I got a Netgear WGT624 last week from Currys for £45. It was easy to setup and has been working well with VM. You also get excellent support on the web with Netgear. If you do have any problems setting up just post on here and I will give you any advice I can.0
