Do a little dance, for the Parking Charge has been cancelled!
I received a very short letter from UKPC today telling me they had cancelled the chargee, and also apologising for any inconvenience....why this change of heart????
1. It could have been due to my reply letter to the debt recovery agency. I pointed out to them that the PPC had never issued me with a "Penalty Parking Charge" (as stated in their letter) as this is a charge issued by local authorities in line with the Road Traffic Act. I clarified that the PPC had actually issued me with a "Parking Charge Notice" which was under dispute as the PPC still hadn't sent a reasonable reply to the points raised in my letter to them and the evidence which I had sent them. I told them to refer the matter back to the PPC.
2. OR, it could have been my letter of complaint about them, which I made to the Director of Westfields Shopping Centre (as seen above). I have a feeling this is what may have made some waves...
However, something must have made a difference or else it seems a very strange move on their behalf.
A final note: Don't give up against these companies. One day they will realise that we won't be bullied into paying something just because they ask us to! Hopefully, this news will spread far and wide...............When dreams take flight, follow them... :A
...but make sure you have thoroughly researched the price of flights before doing so!!! :cool:0 -
they are still chasing me, i now have a letter threatening to send someone round to collect the funds.
has anyone ever hads a doorstep collection from UKPC/Rossendales? i have no intention of paying but wouldnt want my wife annoyed by threats from these idiots.0 -
Just keep your nerve and ignore it. If anyone should turn up at your door threaten them you are calling the police.

Without a court order they can do nothing, you can call the police & tell them to get lost. They have no more rights to enter your property than any random stranger. Only if they file a court case (highly unlikely), win (even more unlikely) and then you fail to pay, THEN they'll be able to instruct bailiffs but believe me no PPC has ever genuinely won a case before and they're not about to start now.Biker-Budgie wrote: »they are still chasing me, i now have a letter threatening to send someone round to collect the funds.

May I suggest you approach Trading Standards urgently and complain that you are being harassed for payment of a non-existant 'debt' through repeated demands (and the threat of 'visits' which is undoubtely causing you concern).
It is Trading Standards' duty to bring the perpetrators to justice.0 -
KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT ADVICE. YOU ARE:A!0

Season's Greetings to you all.
Martin continue the fight against unfair bank charges - they are another way of conning customers into paying excessive and unreasonable charges £60 for being 2p over-drawn. Come on, where's the FAIRNESS in that?
Special mention to Peter-the-Piper and Sarahg1969 et al for good advice on Private Car Parking Charges.0
