We have a boiler and central heating protection with Scottish Hydro Electric and we have had a pressure problem with the boiler since before Christmas, the engineer has been at it twice and we still have the problem we phoned up and was told someone would be yesterday (Monday) no one turned up, phoned in the evening and was told someone would be today and again no one has turned up. I was wondering if anyone else have had problems with Scottish Hydro Electric trying to get them to do repairs.

  • Were you given a reason why they didn't turn up? Maybe the engineer got called away to an emergency...etc etc....

Was it the gas company or national grid? I have had big problems with the latter
  • National grid don't offer boiler protection, do they? I've never heard of that. The op said it was through Scottish Hydro Electric

Indeed, although there are a lot of poeple who think that National Grid do indeed come and fix their heating, fire, cooker etdc and all free of charge at any time, night or day..just like the old days of tut Gas board.

British Gas also thinks that National Grid carries out work on their behalf too but thats another story...

Thats so strange, EDF think NG come out to do meter fixing on their behalf too.. They bl**dy don't though. After they make you wait 6HOURS!!! (and then randomly re-book it without telling you, thus you missing it and them charging for the next appointment)

and we at ng get it in the ear on the emergency line as folks are not aware or not told by their suppliers that ng are not the only company used or contracted by their gas suppliers for meter repairs.and they get told to contact their suppliers by us and the poor engineers that get called out but again that is another story too.

EDF say it can only be done by NG, the meter needs resetting as I'm having a previous tennants debt taken from me
