I called my cc company yesterday and they said that £630 was allocated but not yet taken by Freemans. Fingers crossed.
    Ordered on Tuesday
  • I ordered mine on Wednesday afternoon after I popped to Currys to check it out. Nice TV.

All the posts seem to be on the Samsung and rightly so as is a great price but I wonder if anyone has taken one of the Philips sets and whether these are a good buy. The 32" at £1099 would come down to circa £700 with all the discount. Would appreciate comments

best bet is to go to cuurys to view the picture quality etc. Note though if it is in anologue the picture quality tends to be poor but in digital mode its really good (samasung) compare colours etc the get the sales assistant to see if they know anything about them

Does anyone know where to go to get a working code for more than 20% off? (I know the code can't be posted here - but I figured this was the best thread to ask on)

Either please post the website detailing the code or post the code in the discount vouchers thread and please post a link to it here ? :D

  • I ordered mine at about midday on Wednesday afternoon, just arrived this morning whilst I was at work, £630. nice!!

Had about an hour playing with it, got it connected simultenously next to my panasonic LCD and it's a good set. The Panasonic really shines though as a much better set (picture quality is much better on the Panasonic than on this samsung), but for the price you just can't fault it.

    Thanks to the OP

Ooh what Panna did you test junglebob? I just tried it next to my TX52D (although have no way to send a signal simultenously to both panels) and I came to the same conclusion, the samsung just isn't as good as the panny when it comes to PQ.

I do much prefer the interface on teh samsung though, the panny one really does suck :(

Also the ghosting on the samsung is much worse than the panny (only noticable in games where there's dark against light, such as kong, or the twilight levels in GRAW I find, but IT IS there and easily spottable (people always get so defensive about stuff like that :p)).

But still, after a few hours of playing GRAW + watching Madagascar, I can say the sammy is a great set, and thanks to the O.P for such a great deal.

Ooh ordered mine (went for the non-freeview one) on Wed morning, about 11ish, arrived about lunchtime today too.
  • Well that's me in receipt of my tele, ordered on Monday,
I was lucky enough to get one of the Dell lcd tv's a while back. After initially being critical of the Dell through lack of lcd knowledge, I would say 1st impressions are the Dell is a better set than this Samsung. On looks, sound and picture the Dell is better. Yet to fiddle about with settingS on Samsung so I know I can produce better picture.
Xbox 360 looks good, an improvement than on the dell but only through 32" screen compared to my Dell's 26".

Overall I am happy with it especially at price sub £600 through quidco, and of course all lcd's will come into their own when a decent signal is fed...HD!! :j :T :j

    Big thanks to OP.
