Tried to order (Twilight set) this morning and it said that the item was out of stock and may delay my order - no indication of how long though.0 -
I ordered mine on the 14th and finally today it says 'out for delivery' on the tracking page. I hope I get them today as I have just finished my last book. They took my money as soon as I placed the order.

I phoned Red House this morning as I'd had a card through from DHL saying a delivery attempt had been made, yet when I phoned DHL to rearrange delivery they said it had been signed for. Anyway a few mroe calls today and it seems the driver put the wrong card through and my books are out for delivery today, so fingers crossed but I never have any luck with couriers!0

I work in a library and our customers are waiting a max of two weeks to get these items on reservation (free for teens and 50p for adults). If you read them and love them and really really want a set to keep forever then go buy a set after lol.
I would urge folks not to buy books unless it is something they are sure they want to keep and cherish forever. I also volunteer in a charity bookshop on my day off and it's really made me think about the money and trees wasted on books in this country. Go to a charity bookstore in 6 months to a year's time and it will be flooded with Stephenie Meyers. It's the same after every big publishing phenomena. We could now open a shop full of Dan Brown books alone lol. The sad thing is that people donate these books because they have read them and so have most other folks. Often we can't even sell them in the charity shops. So they go to church fetes etc or do the rounds of other charity shops. Then when they still haven't sold they go in the bin. You can't even recycle books due to the glue along the spine (although I believe they are trying to come up with ways to combat this).
So please think next time before you go and buy the latest paperback novels, if it's something you really NEED to have your own copy of, or whether you couldn't read it secondhand or from the library. You will be saving the planet as well as your cash!
*gets off soapbox* lol
Take your point but if everyone stopped buying books then the publishing industry would collapse. Authors do deserve to be paid for their work.0 -

Love the first 3 though!
I loved the 4th book - I was absolutely shocked when I came online and read so many negative things about it! So glad I didn't read reviews beforehand because I'm currently re-reading it and not enjoying it anywhere near as much now I have those negative reviews in my head! I would say it's my 2nd favorite of the whole series (1st being Twilight of course!) xxx0 -
Okay, it's not often I do this but I think we need some criticism in this thread. If you're buying these books for your teenager, please read them yourself so you can make your own decision. Some of this is down to personal opinion, but I just think that people should be made aware of the messages these books contain.
The books portray abusive relationships as being normal. The male main character threatens the female character with violence and says several times that he wants to kill her, even going so far as to stalk her. The female character isolates herself from her friends to protect her 'secret' and is constantly avoiding the male character's anger. It's also full of various male and female stereotypes (women are devious and reckless but also frail and fragile, tempting the noble men who must at the same time protect the 'weaker sex') and is, in this writer's opinion, very badly written.
I won't go into details of the fourth book for fear of my post being removed, but it contains questionable content involving an underage child. Please, SAVE MONEY BY NOT BUYING THESE BOOKS.0 -
This is so typical. I just purchased the all four books from Amazon two nights ago for my cousin. Anyway, it's a good deal though!0
