How do I change the title of the thread? I was going to change it to the £1 and under title that Maz suggested but I can't figure out how?
better wait for some other suggestions? might get something witty and MSE!
not sure how you change it mind you...... somone will know....
i think if you edit your first post, the little sub heading is the same as the main heading...
change it to DFW bookclub with MSE slant (working title) and we'll get a good title in time!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Hi - we've recently started a book club at work so I have a list of books ready prepared. Not sure if it will PM so if not I'll PM you and get your email address

Great idea! x0 -
sounds like a great idea, count me in. Ames I think if you just click edit in your first post it will let you change the title for a while...
I really like the idea of a genre a month so maybe we could pick one or two books in a particular genre and then that will form the basis of the book title for the next few months almost up to the end of the year and we then only talk about that month's book (and how cheaply we managed to get it in the end
)
could I add (auto) biographies / life stories as well? Just thinking that one book I read I was given as a gift and wouldn't ordinarily have picked it for myself but I was glad I'd had an opportunity to read it IYSWIMDFW Nerd Club #545 Dealing With Our Debt

I'm sorry guys but it's still not really a DFW topic... no matter what title you give it... It did spark off conversations between the BGs too and we've asked the "ultimate" powers that be about it.
My concern is that often threads from people coming here for help get pushed to page 2 and missed because these clubs are taking over... So I have asked for the views of MSE towers on ALL the daily threads etc.
Whilst I think they are great then some of them are really not very DFW - MSE yes, but not DFW...
It's not that I don't think it's a good idea... just that I don't think it belongs on the DFW forum...
Hmmm that was probably as clear as mud but hopefully it will make sense

How about if I ran it off board, say on Yahoo or Google groups, and linked to it in my sig, would that be allowed? If it is, what do other people think?Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

i would be up for that... although maybe we should just wheedle our way into Arms one?I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0

I havr to agree if there is no room on the DFW board for this thread then surely many others will have to be moved? This like all the other clubs/challenges/threads is part of the DFW community which is equally as important as each individual thread. On a mission0

Can I join in too please wherever this thread ends up?
I agree that some of the other boards aren't quite as friendly as this one which is why, despite the fact that I haven't been in debt for some years, I like to stick around because you're all so NICE!

Count me in too please!
Can't see why this can't be here when other non-DFW clubs are allowed?

As much as I like diarys/running clubs/book clubs/non dfw challenges I do agree with Tine on this one. Its not in any way DFW and I would love a book club but its not suited here. The only way I can see around it is if you can open a sub forum of the DFW chat/off topic forum (like the arms). Then threads like this can still run but in the background. However we are then back to the debate of if diarys should go into there too :rolleyes:0
