I have had items won from me at 1p and people still complain(leave me negative!..grr) about postage £3 do they think im running a charity?I say to people now in my listings to read description and postage well and if you are not happy with it please dont bid.As i total in my head item plus p & p & what total i want to pay before bidding on items ..off my soap box now.
so fee avoidance is the way to go then?0 -

You are right in adding an extra charge.Have you allowed for your shoe wear.
Soles are expensive if they need replacing.Or maybe a new fashion pair.
Of course if you are lucky enough to take ten parcels to the post office at a time then it would work out less for you.
.
Don't forget 'hidden' costs.
You will need to buy food to replace the energy lost in going to the postal office, then there's petrol money to go and buy the food ........... it goes on & on & on.:rotfl:

I think no one at all should complain about postage fees, as it is clearly stated there and if you have got a brain you will know anyway how big or small the item should be and the postage for it. I have been looking for a gps reciever the postage is £12.99 and £2.99 required insurance, I know in the end i will have to buy one. I think that is disgracefull as i sold 5 items 3 phones, 1 blueooth gps routee 66 2005 pack and a bluetooth headset. That totals to 5 items i wrote £30 for the lot in the end it was going to cost me anout £18 1st class so i did special delivery which cost £25.00 in total. The point is each of the items i sold is the about the same weight as the gps i want to buy and they are charging £15 thats appauling, but in the end its all aboout profit. What can you do or say as once you buy an item the postage comes with the package. If people cant help people on these threads, then they should rather not say anything then say something which isnt any use to the person who needs help0

lol,
dont forget the new dog lead costs, as you take your dog with you to the post office for security, then you have to buy him lunch, spring water, and any possible vets fees and dont forget to add the dogs new sheepskin coat into the equasion though!

in my case I was well aware that the p&p was overpriced as I had bought similar items and assumed the seller was trying to avoid fees.
The issue I had was that he stated clearly that item would be sent 1st class signed for within 1-2 days. It wasn't even posted for over a week and then only shoved in a jiffy bag with a 1st class stamp on.
I wanted the item in a hurry, that is why I was willing to pay the high p&p. He didn't keep to his word and hasn't replied to emails asking for a partial refund, neither has he left me feedback, even although I left him positive, as despite everything, I was happy with item.0 -
High postage.....I'm feeling quite bitter at the moment.....I made a really stupid mistake....
Bought a high chair, and was quite pleased with the price BUT.....didn't realise that the $30 p+p was for America only.
I clicked buy it now and didnt realise till I went to pay that there was no postage worked out, so I had to email and request a total....
The total p+p turned out to be $107 (£60)!!!! I don't know if this is an average price or not but the fact is I could have bought the item here for the price of the postage.
I will NEVER make that mistake again!!! I do sympathise Louise, but it is a bit of a silly mistake to make. You really should have asked before bidding how much postage was. I know it's easy to say with hind sight, but you should always err on the side of caution before bidding. Have you tried emailing them and explaining the situation? You never know they might be quite understanding, worth a try and if they say no, it's your choice whether to risk neg feedback and just not pay or honour your side of the auction and go ahead. £60 is probably what you'd pay in a shop anyway I guess.
Good luck.Sexkitten

If you don't like the postage fees, don't bid on the item rather than complaining about it after you win the bid or trying to get some of your money back from the seller.
Air your views and questions to the seller before you even bid on the item.0 -

I know - I admitted I made a stupid mistake - was rushing too fast because it didn't have long to go, hopefully by posting it it will make sure no-one else does it as well.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
