New Flat - Virgin Media

Hi guys,
I'm moving into a new rented flat on Saturday and was looking into internet deals and decided on the o2 one which would have worked out at about £13 a month taking into account the line rental and Quidco cashback.
Just spoke to my landlord and found out there's no BT line in the flat and he currently has Virgin Media with a TV, phone and broadband package for about £32 a month!
Before we agree to sign up with Virgin (i.e. transfer it into our names and maybe downsize the package) are there any other options other than getting a BT line installed?
Thanks!

It's likely you'd be able to get a "deal" from Virgin Media.
Basic phone line + basic TV package (similar to freeview) and 2Meg broadband should not cost more than £20 per month at the normal price (£11 landline, £9 broadband, free TV) and often there are bundle offers or deals that may make this cheaper.
This may outweigh installation of a BT line.
You can avoid the expensive call charges on the phone line (except the free weekend calls) by using someone like The Phone Co-Op or First Telecom to make your chargeable calls much cheaper (and no 7p connection fee)

First Telecom's service works via a free router box, the Phone Co-op's works by you dialing a 0800 number.0 -
Not advisabe to take over any contract your landlord is on, best to get your own new contract on your own deal.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
