I've looked at his website which has feedback from other customers, and pictures of work he's carried out. I've also checked his Corgi registration on their website. I haven't asked about his insurance yet but I will do if I decide to use him.

    Sounds pukka to me then.

I've got the other quote in now - basically the same work but with for a Vaillant ecoTEC plus 831 boiler, which has 5 years warranty.

The price is £2,025 + VAT, so a difference of over £700.

Good afternoon: Sounds in the right ballpark for the south if the quote includes a BB/Magnaclean and a power flush for a Vaillant EcoTec Plus 831 (a popular choice with the OH's clients and a far superior boiler to the WB Junior 24i). How many days to complete? A powerflush should take a better part of the day depending on the size of the system and its condition.

Good luck which ever way you decide to go.

I'm not sure, I need to check with him. I'll probably go with the cheaper guy as the Worcester is more than adequate for my very small house, and he seemed a lot more reliable than the others, turning up on time, sending his estimate straight away etc. and I'd rather give the money to a small trader than one of the bigger companies.

Hi...as I said earlier, if you opt for a WB get a CDi instead of the Junior as it shouldn't make a huge difference to the price but you'll end up with a better boiler....btw ,very happy to hear you want to help out the one man bands.;)

Just thought I'd update this thread as I now have a lovely new boiler and I am very pleased with it.

The bloke who put it in was great, and I'd recommend him to anyone.

It's the Worcester he quoted for (first post). I know you recommended another one but I'm happy with it, the flow rate is fine for my little house and a million times better than I had before. It's so much quicker to fill up my (lovely new) bath!
