Just a quick question, and please don't shoot me down, why do loads of people bump the ITV comps to Thank? Nobody seems to mind that for some reason, but I find it just as annoying as bumping any other comp.

i agree and then theres also the magazine ones too:D

I think questions relating to the comp are okay, its the thanks for comp, or have entered etc that are really bumping

one of the bigger bumps at the moment is the game over one, a poster will post gameover but doesnt say whether or not they have PMd a board guide - personally if I spot one that is game over I would just PM a board guide rather than bumping it unnecessarily

there's someone who would appear is entering comps on the day they end, so obviously loads are over. they're posted comp has expired on them all. they've alreaydy been moved to game over???? i have already replied but they're still doing it? i suppose at least its in game over so not bumping up the main board, but still..........

Can I ask for some help guys

I won a comp in Oct with M&S, they sent me a letter to confirm and the value was approx £350. On Christmass Eve I finally received a parcel but in it was a different prize. I did a search and it was a comp that they ran at the same time but valued at £180. I rang and the person there said that they would send vouchers so I could get the orginal prize. I've still not received them thou, I rang this week and you know when you can just tell that someone is not interested. I'm not too sure how to handle this...what do you think????

Thanks for any advise in advance xxxx

    From Velvet Glove's Comping Guide

7 What happens if my prize doesn’t turn up?
This is going to be individual to each comp. Usually it will state in the T & C for each comp how long it should take for the prizes to be dispatched to winners. As a general rule though or in the absence of any particular details in the T & C, allow 28 days, (allow more if we are experiencing postal strikes or extreme weather conditions). If the prize hasn't arrived by then, get in touch with the company offering the prize. Try to contact the person whose details you have & ask politely if there is a problem with delivery. A telephone call is the best way, but failing that try emailing them. If they don't reply, look on the original website for contact details & contact them, again being as polite as you can.

If you still get no response from them, there are a few different things you can try.

The Institute of Sales Promotions complaints@isp.org.uk lay down the guidelines which comp organisors must follow. MSE Compers have reported that they are very good at investigating dodgy comps & missing prizes with one chap in particular Edwin Mutton, being an absolute star.

The Advertising Standards Authority have an online complaints form.
