its getting worse as the year goes on - bumping, no searches and the one thing that realy gets me - posting on the I Won thread and saying - cant find the op to thank  or not even bothering to try.

    Al your not grumpy :D

also on the I won I won I won the thing that also gets me as well as cant find the OP to thank or not even bothering to try is people saying they have won tickets but cant go as they live too far away - well hello, they didnt move in the meantime did they?:D

another thing I vhave noticed while I am having a moan is people even saying in the competitions threads 'if i win someone else can have it as I live too far away' - hello again, but just enter if you can make use of the prize either for yourself or someone else (okay, I do accept that sometimes runners up prizes arrive that you have no use for but thats not what happens in alot of cases:D)

ok, moan over for me, off to sort through the bumps and enter some comps

lol, yeah, I stopped posting the terms and conditions of the comps I posted - and sure enough along people came, even if it was a few days later and posted the T&Cs!

There's a useful bit in VG's Comping Guide

"Please note: If you want to let yourself know that you have entered a comp or even thank the OP, press the ‘Thanks’ button, please don’t reply to the post "thanks" or "just entered" etc. This will bump the thread back to the top of the Forum which can result in other MSE Compers being over eager & entering a comp again without realizing that they already entered which can be quite frustrating as they can then potentially disqualify themselves. They will also waste time going into a thread again thinking that something in there has changed, again wasting valuable comping time! ‘Bumping’ is also against the Forum rules .."

Perhaps we should quote it at every opportunity :)

Something like that (perhaps a little shorter) should be a requirement of all comps posted perhaps?

I bump when I need to ask a question relating to the comp? Is that allowed? Or should I simply PM the OP? Thanks

I think questions relating to the comp are okay, its the thanks for comp, or have entered etc that are really bumping

one of the bigger bumps at the moment is the game over one, a poster will post gameover but doesnt say whether or not they have PMd a board guide - personally if I spot one that is game over I would just PM a board guide rather than bumping it unnecessarily

Just a quick question, and please don't shoot me down, why do loads of people bump the ITV comps to Thank? Nobody seems to mind that for some reason, but I find it just as annoying as bumping any other comp.
