Well my idea would to have an "Advent Thread" But one post would contain links to the comps that just were click and enter and they would be in the Regular Board with an end date (so they can be easily Game Overed) but locked so no chat can go on. 2nd post would contain links to the "question" comps (again in the Regular Board maybe?) and they stay unlocked so the threads can be updated with answers

At least that way if duplicates arise its easier to merge too!

Kippers idea makes a lot of sense to me as well.

Got 80 pages of comps to catch up on again, and just a few hols this month, inc Lapland on the weekend, yippee.

Having one list of all advents is a good idea but could it not work like most of the dailies - one thread with a list linking to each individual comp where all discussions can take place. Maybe moving the whole lot to the regulars board with a sticky for the list would keep the main board clear.

Not that anyone wants my twopenny's worth at this late hour on the first day of advent, but here goes... and please don't get mad......

I am quite new to the dailies, but what I have done is I use the daily thread and check it regularly, if not daily for any new additions, but have then set up a load of bookmarks to the threads where the comp is posted in the main board/regulars board/wherever it may be. That way those comps I want to enter daily I know exactly where to find it, and having the bookmark to the individual comp thread on MSE rather than direct to the site reminds me exactly when it will finally end to then delete it, and if there is a new answer each day I can also check the individual thread. I don't work from the first post in the Daily main thread.
Not everyone will want to enter ALL the advent comps... I know with the dailies I don't want to enter them all and having them as separate threads helps with this. Surely if a particular advent calendar has a different question/answer each day then having its own thread makes sense..... and linking to it from the advent thread.

I am still working my way through the advent list after a long day at work, but thought I would venture here to understand what has gone on today!! Dont know if my comments help or hinder the debate... but hey ho.... !!!!!!!!:D

I can't be doing with the advent threads today, I don't know some of the answers, some of the links I can't actually find an advent comp on... I really think it would be best done like the dailies is done

I wasn't having a go at you hun, sorry if it seemed that way I just think they would be best in regular board with individual threads like dailies, its not the way you have done it, you've done a great job esp as theres so many! I'm just having a moany morning so just ignore me lol!

Well I for one don't like how the dailies are done you have to trawl through all of the comps just to find which have daily prizes and then seperate them from the enter once per day for a monthly or weekly prize

twould be much better if the real daily prizes where seperated from the enter once per day for a monthly or weekly prize

I personally cannot see anything wrong with the Advents at least they have real daily prizes keep up the good work iwannabeonthebeach it is most appreciated :T:T:T:T:T

Hi, I was wondering if there are challenges like the 2008 for 2008 every year and is there going to be one for 2009? I'm still fairly new to comping but would like to take part if there is one this year?
