I won but never received a text, they rang me in the end because I hadn't responded.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I'm always so torn with the postcard comps. I have some from the cinema that my DD got for me, but I wonder whether they think 'Oh here's a professional comper' and tend not to pick them. I bought some index cards that are slightly bigger than the normal white postcards and are coloured and have lines, I use those occasionally, but in general I tend to stick to the 'normal' white ones that I buy in a block from Smiths.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

i dont think it makes much of a difference if its a plain postcard or printed one, the only exception would be if they were all put in a bag and the person picked out the one that stood out the more but dont think they would use that method often now
ive won quite a bit with postals and i go from making my own, using them from old birthday cards, xmas cards etc to ones i buy from the postcard store to using free ones from the cinema0 -
That's good to know, thanks. I think I tend to over analyse things too much :rolleyes:Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

Thank you for your interesting replies. Being a newbie I haven't won a postal comp yet so I can't comment on whether you can win with a normal postcard or a homemade one so all your thoughts are really welcome.~ Smile and light up your world ~~ ask, believe, receive ~0

prozacspice wrote: »Hi everyone, does anyone know the number to contact the Daily Mail with regards to the cheques for the Daily Name Game? I stupidly deleted the text after I sent them my name and address and don't know the number.
Its been over 28 days now and I am a little worried thay have forgotten me?
Any help would be appreciated
I won recently from the Daily Mail name game and I still have my text. I had to reply quoting WINNER and the code that they gave me and my name and address to 65700. I don't know whether if you text a query to this number you will get anywhere if you start the message with WINNER, without the reference number that they gave you. For the price of a text however, it might be worth a go. I have not had a cheque yet, but it has not been 28 days yet.0 -
Ive just started to get into this entering competitions lark and i just wondered(im not sure if anyone really knows the answer) but does anyone think you will have less of a chance if you choose not to accept promotional mail (not ticking the boxes) when filling in you details??
obviously its prob not meant to butwho knows whos making the decisions...is it worth ticking them and having to deal with the barrage of junk mail??
I say it because recently myself and the guy next to me at work both won nintendo wiis in 2 of the 3 months the competition was on for playing a platform game , and the girl gave us them because we played it so much and she saw our names come up all the time when it stated it was purley selected at random.
does this happen in most comps?0 -
This should of been posted in the discussion thread at the top of the forum really (just for future reference :cool2:)
I guess theres no definate answer to your question as I don't think companies would publicly say they favour people that tick the boxes or play the games more often as this would cause a lot of fuss & would lead to lots of complaints.
I don't make a big deal out of the tick boxes, if the site is of interest for me I tick that I am okay with them sending me info.. if not I say no thanks, I've had some decent wins so most of the time I don't think it makes a difference. Thanks to everyone that posts :T:money:

You can get some really good offers from the emails when you do agree to have them, and let's not forget that if some people didn't get the emails we wouldn't know about a lot of the competitions that are going on.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams
