Got a call a about an hour ago from one of the radio stations in Birmingham saying i'd just entered on their site and would i be interested in coming in to the studio.

Didn't realise you had to go in so too far for me,thought it might be a online thing that i didn't mind doing. Can't remember what the prize was for now.

if you know where the prize has come from just do a search of the competitions forum for a key word or the prize and see if you can find it that way (on the main comps page use the search this forum box)

When I looked for yours Jake, I just searched for moon+calendar - there was only one! It's a bit trickier to find if you win a DVD that was offered on lots of different sites, unless you get a compliment slip or a letter to say where it's from!

That's usually when someone posts a duplicate - as most people keep track of entered comps by clicking the thanks button, if you check the original post and the thanks button has disappeared, then you know you've entered, and entering again from the duplicate post may disqualify you from the comp :)

    Hi

Have been comping on n off for a few weeks now, and thought I would put all my questions in 1 place.....hopefully this is the right one

1 - Should I enter comps from regional websites?

eg - i often see comps on here for Sheffield star, or Scottish record. I live in the south of england, can I still win?

Some don't mind and would send the prize out. Some require you pick up the prize. Read the t&c, I suppose.

2 - Are all the GMTV comps - max of 5 entries. I know the big goldenballs / real deal are but when there is say a camera or a TV

The other online comps should be one entry.

3 - can me and my hubby enter same comp. Some T's and C's say 1 per household , but when it says 1 per person is it safe to go for it?

1 per person, yeah, it's OK

4 - is it true some sites wont let you win for 6 months after a win....if so, which ones, I can save some time

    Virgin, I think

5 - Empire comps never confirm entry - should they. if so, its not working and I can save somemore time

I would love to know this answer too :rotfl:

6 - when asked for daytime tel number should I give landline / mobile or neither?

    I give mobile (never landline)

7 - can I have a link to dodgy comp companies.....and if they are dodgy when folk post them on here, should we follow up with a reply poitning out the 'reputation' of the competiiton company

Over to you, Al Mac ;)

8 - if I win a prize like a holiday / weekend trip in london etc etc, do you know if I will have to go, or whether I could give to my mum or sister - both of whom have different surnames (appreciate answer will be general rather thna specefic)

Some t&cs state Winner MUST travel. It's probably better you enter it in your mum or sister's name to begin with.

Meanwhile THANK YOU to all the comp posters on here

    xxx

    Hope this helps ;)
