Nationwide E Saver opening

Transfers are instantaneous and always have been.
Appalling rate on the 'e-saver' now though of course (the benefits of mutuality)0 -

Appalling is the right word. But I like to keep a couple of thousand in the E Saver as it's instantly available if I need it.
Have got fairly good fixed rate bonds with other bs/banks. But when they all eventually mature, the rates will be appalling everywhere I imagine.:(0 -
I have always been with the Nationwide, but have recently been forced to systematically transfer all of my money out of the bank due to the shocking rates of interest. I have to agree with donny kebab - these are the benefits of mutuality apparently. I am sick of the Nationwide.0

I quite agree. They act like a bank but pretend to be better than them. I'm moving my eSavings to Tesco which, despite having the longest process to ever open an account, is paying 5.1%. Better than the 1.95% Nationwide are rewarding me for my membership.0 -
Transfers between the flex account and e-saver are instantaneous and always have been in my experience. I have had an e-saver since they were first introduced.

I must have got that wrong. My memory is just not the same but it was a long time ago and I decided I could do better elsewhere.0 -
been with Natonwide for ten years and opened up a e savings account last summer. it was open within a hour. Not the best rate at moment but Nationwide have done this for a reason!
Makes me wonder, are other places selling themselves short?0 -
Just wondering, no compensation?
The online phone help team were total rubbish. Supervisors who promised to ring back and didn't, phone operators who wouldn't talk to me because the a/c # I was quoting wasn't mine etc etc. Similarly the online 'contact us if you're account is missing' replied saying they couldn't help as the quoted a/c # was for someone else!
When I went to shout at my local manager however things improved and my case was taken up quickly, and with much amazement. It took him and his IT woman nearly a week to get it back on , but I did have daily phone calls advising what progress (or lack of initially) they were making. The IT expert even printed of the 'personal details' of the account holders which listed 2 sets of details, DOB etc etc - mine against A Partner, and my partners correctly against Ms A Partner.
Final call and apology from the branch guy was just to say that they'd got nowhere as to how it had happened and probably never would - HO could offer no explanation! Didn't think of asking for compensation though....0 -
My E Savings, opened on 12/01/09 still didn't show today.
I contacted Nationwide and was told that it will take five working days for the E Saver to show.
This seems ridiculous. I've opened new online accounts with bs/banks I've never dealth with before and they haven't taken that long to show.
I opened two other Nationwide E Saver accounts a few years ago and I'm positive they didn't take five days to show.
Nationwide seem to be going backwards with efficiency.0 -
lolarentt hopefully I will never experience that because it must have been scary initially and extreme annoying later. The reason why I asked if you got compensation was I thought that you would have because not only was it their fault it wasted your time and getting you stressed about it. I would have definitaly asked for compensation or switch accounts!!0
