Income as in what I get personally. I aint sure what ur meaning here, I get LHA now yeah but I didnt before. The figures shown are what I get to live on now. Hope thats what u were asking, if not then I'm lost :o

When people who are earning talk about the money they have to live on (ie earnings) they don't deduct the money they spend on their rent or mortgage. I was emphasising the fact that the sums you listed

    CTC - £45.43 pw
    INC BEN - £186.20 every 2 wks
    CB - £75.20 monthly

aren't all you have to live on, you receive the HB/LHA and CTB as well.

This is the reason why people on benefits alone sometimes feel hard done by compared to their fellows who work. They only count the actual cash they get not benefits in kind. In fact they are often far better off than a single person renting a property not entitled to any benefits.

you could always get an HC1 form from the job centre or some health centres have them. Fill in the details of income and outgoings and see how you go. You get an HC2 letter if you are entitled to full help or an HC3 letter if you're only entitled to a % of help so either way you may save money

SL, i think the observation that you didn't count your HB/LHA and CTB is a good one, of course this is relevant and not nasty at all. You got your help and advice so quit spitting the dummy.

I aint, but I didnt realise I was to count that, it was a genuine mistake. Sorry just getting frustrated a bit. I'd give anything to get back to work to support my kids but they wont let me. I've never been on benefits previously, always worked. Now coz they messed up my knee almost 3 yrs ago I'm stuck in this situation I dont wanna be in. Kinda been left in limbo a bit, not old enough for new knee to get back to normal, yet not fit enough to work.

I am sorry for not counting the LHA & CTB, I guess I was only looking at what I physically got, but maybe some ppl like me didnt understand all this so I think others need to go a bit easier if possible, and I didnt spit the dummy at all. I was responding to how I seen the response to me is all.

I usually get someone to fill in the forms for me as I aint good at all with that stuff. Usually a carer comes and sorts out the forms I have. I'd ask her but she is on hols until next week.

I didnt mean to sound angry and I am sorry, just hate being judged like I dont wanna work. I do.

But no one said that you don't want to work, they just pointed out that you've got more money to spend than you realise because you don't have to worry about rent or council tax. So although you listed about £600 coming in a month that's not pre-allocated to rent or tax so you might not actually be entitled to any help with health costs though it never hurts to apply as the worst they can do is say no.

Sorry, guess I was getting all paranoid. I hate being stuck on benefits. I aint that kinda person, My ex wasnt the nicest of guys, took me 6yrs to get away from him, little did I know he wasnt paying the bills when I was in hospital. So after I got away from him the bills would start coming in, had over 2K rent arrears and I just wanted to work to do it all for me. I cant even do that. I didnt mean to sound all nutty about this, just everytime I say something I end up doing it all wrong. Sorry :(
