I'm traveling to NZ in March and need a mobile phone that will work there.
I want a Pay as you go phone (don't think I will be given a contract phone
)
All I want from the phone is a good camera on it eg: 1.3-2 megapixels and of course not outrageously priced lol
any recommendations??
Thanks

ok i guess that means no one knows of a good camera phone at a reasonable price!
one thing i have found out is that NZ is dualband if that makes a difference!0 -
There are also different types of phones in NZ. Vodafone NZ uses GSM and 3g phones like we have, and there are also CDMA and TDMA networks with Telecom NZ and Vodafone.
So you'd be fine with taking a phone with you, but if you leave buying until you get there, you might buy a phone there that you can't use back home - ask for a GSM one on Vodafone.
But phones are probably cheaper in UK than almost anywhere, and there's plenty of choice - it's probably that we don't count ourselves as experts on lots of different camera phones. I don't anyway, sorry.0 -
thanks for your replies....:)
Unfortunately the virgin one is out of stock manutdExcellent price tho!!
I have a stop over in HK, would it be worth my while waiting to see what they have in the airport shop?0 -
Its always worth phoning Virgin and checking to see if they have any reconditioned phones which are unused returns under their 28 day return policy
Are you travelling about in NZ or visiting relatives?0 -
TY Edinburghlass I will do that
I'm visiting my parents in NZ, unfortunately my father was in a light aircraft crash in October and suffered severe burns to his face, neck and chest but most severely on his arms and hands
An article in NZ papers is here :

I'm going there to help to look after him. He's out of hospital now an 'amazing' recovery according to the experts - but obviously he needs alot of care and assistance now and after 11 reconstruction surgeries with another one yesterday he is on a long road until he will be the 'best' that he will be.
I will be there for 3 weeks mainly to give my stepmother and sister some 'time off' and of course to see him!0
