Advice required on Real Player replacment?

Hi there,

Apologies if this has already been posted / asked but I've searched the forum and can't find it.

Following on from another post discussing Free AV products where someone posted that Real Player can be a bit of a nasty and could be viewed as Malware I am interest to know what other options are available and how they perform?

I currently use Real Player and from what I could make out the issue is regarding its reporting back to Real on what you have been watching / listening too.

Any advice would be welcome

There is a real player alternative, ill have a look, this is what was recommended

You can use Media Player Classic for all these proprietary formats such as Quicktime, Real etc.

depends what the OP is wanting the software to do as i listen to bbc radio and it wouldnt play so i use a real player alternative, but yes vlc player is a good media player

I didn't realise realplayer had Bbc radio stations, I will have to look into that myself

well to listen to bbc radio live you can either listen to it using real player or windows media player

I use the BBC's version of Real Player, because the BBC aren't allowed to advertise (in the UK) that extends to their 'special' version of RealPlayer that is a lot better than Real's usual version.
