I've been a couple of times. In all honesty I don't think I'd bother again. The last time we went my children were younger and they quite enjoyed it but I think that now they'd find it boring. My oldest is now 11 and unless it's changed dramatically in the last five years (and I don't think it has) I don't think he'd be bothered about going.

It's certainly not like Willy Wonka's factory anyway - the only positive I can think about it is that you get free samples as you walk around ;)
  • thanks for your reply, my 11 yo keeps on about going, seems to think its going to be magical lol, i am quite interested in going , as never been before. the free samples sound good too !!

  • It is worth a visit. Don't go when it's very busy though - Bank Holidays etc. If you have Tesco Clubcard vouchers I think they can be used to pay for entry, which can save you quite a bit.
  • We went last year and enjoyed it. It wasn't magical, but it was really interesting to see how they made and packaged the chocolate and it was engaging for my 4 year old, my husband, my mother-in-law and I. I think it was a great day out. I agree with climberup...use Tesco vouchers...we did and so it was a free day out that we all enjoyed.

Oh, you mean Chocolate Hell. You do get free samples but you will get better value by going to the corner shop and spending £5 on chocolate for your little one.

The 'ride' is ridiculous - when we went there were hour long queues for what is not much more than being walked round in the front of a shopping trolley with largeish chocolate raisins with faces on them.

Seriously - at 11 she is far too old. The only good bit is making stuff with chocolate at the end, but you can do that at home.

I would never never go again. Nightmare. It's a long long way from Kent and it's a long way from anywhere else worth going to around Birmingham

I've been mentally scarred from my visit, and we lived in Nottingham and drove. Don't do it!!! Go to digger land instead.
  • i love the cocoa bean ride:eek:

mind you its the only thing of interest for under 5s apart from the free chocolate:rotfl:
i live 5 mins away but it is expensive for what it is.

We live locally and will be going for our 2nd visit in half term as my son wants to take friends there for his birthday. It's good enough, bit expensive but then so are all attractions imo. Tesco vouchers are the way forward and you are never too old for chocolate!

Hi we are a fair way away from cadbury world, so only go if we are on our way somewhere else and have to drive past, can i offer the following though

My children age 9 & 13 love it, it isn't all willy wonka as previous posts have suggested but does make an interesting day out. there are lots of different sections, so if some of it doesnt appeal you can quickly move on.
would suggest using tesco vouchers to pay, also book in advance as then you get a timed slot. the choc shop on site is not so good, usually no bargains, so phone ahead and make sure you can get access to the staff shop on the day you go, its on a different site but usually well worth the shortdrive as prices are seriously cheap. from memory i dont think they give you access to it at weekends, but push them and they will tell you. :T
  • We drove down to Birmingham and visited this, we're in our twenties and enjoyed it however it doesn't take more then a couple of hours to go round. If your coming from far away I'd recommend also visiting Dudley Zoo or Birmingham Aquarium or if you like history, the 'living' Black Country Museum which I found really interesting. All are within about 15/20 mins of cadbury world although the aquarium is in the centre of Birmingham and while its more expense, it'll feel more worthwhile.
