Findus is owned by a private equity group, Lion who bought it along with Young's Seafood as part of their acquisition of Foodvest.
The company which has gone bust is Newcastle Productions which supplies Findus with many of its products. Foodvest and Lion are both still going strong AFAIK.0 -

My grandad worked there for years until he retired and it used to be one of the biggest employers in Grimsby and Cleethorpes in the 70s and early 80s.
