Bunny you are so right about the fear - I found that you have to 'accept' the pain and just go with it. It hurts like hell but as long as you can keep the fear at bay (not easy, but much easier if you are well informed and feel in control a little.....and as Bunny says, have a good birthing partner who is also well informed and will ask 'why' when you are incapable of doing), it can be an amazing experience.

I've had one bad experience and one completely fantastic experience, but don't regret either of them, and the memory fades quickly! :o

Thanks ladies. I've been doing hypnobirthing classes and they teach you to trust your body - it is afterall designed to do the job. I'm not looking through rose tinted glasses at all and expect discomfort but not necessarily the screaming agony TV likes to portray... I'm hoping to do it all as naturally as possible but have no qualms about doing what is necessary medically to keep me and Bean healthy... obviously I'd prefer to manage without epidural, C-section etc but if needs must...

I'm actually more concerned about the contents (or lack thereof) of my hospital bag right now...:p

I found all was OK, as long as I could rest my foot on top of DH's. Might be the 'grounded' thing Bunny mentioned

    Afternoon by the way :D

Reading all this I can't decide if it's making me broody or making me never want to have sex again :rotfl:
