I booked a room on the Isle of Wight ages ago when the sale is on, for 3 nights in March. Total cost including Wifi £68. Brilliant!
I then learned that a colleague has a flat with a garden on IoW which he lets for a steal at £15 a night.
OH wants to consider abandoning the booking, it's non-refundable because a) if the weather is crap we will have a proper flat with kitchen, TV, DVD, sofas etc, b) separate rooms - not sure what I was thinking but what do you suggest we do from 7.30 pm when DS goes to sleep, whisper?! and c) use of a garden instead of being forced to go out all day just to be outside because a) if the weather is crap we will have a proper flat with kitchen, TV, DVD, sofas etc, b) separate rooms - not sure what I was thinking but what do you suggest we do from 7.30 pm when DS goes to sleep, whisper?! and c) use of a garden instead of being forced to go out all day just to be outside
For £15 a night it is hardly an extravagence, I wish we hadn't already paid, but for an extra £45 - I feel it would be a bit silly not to as we may spend more than that in meals out, lunches etc that in the flat we could prepare for ourselves cheaply.......
Kicking myself but there is no going back on the booking
If you pay for the rooms in advance then can someone not pay DD for the rooms and then whoever buys them just go.....how will they know who is in the rooms....Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Daph - when you ring them could you say that you booked the rooms as a present for someone, and it's not actually you that will be staying in them? If they're okay with that, then someone could just buy the rooms off you."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
