Hi,
Hope that someone can give me a bit of a pointer here. I've got a 12 month contract on Orange via OSPS, the 12 months runs out end of Feb and my final cashback is m12.
I'm planning to give notice on this contract so it expires end of Feb and I can start again on a new deal, prob not via osps, and was wondering if this would cause problems with my cashback. Anyone got experience of trying to claim cashback after termination of a contract?
many thanks in advance,
Baggio

there is a 30 day notice period for cancelling the contract..
Look at when your month 12 bill will arrive.
Work out if you need a PAC to port your number to a PAYG (e.g. Virgin) then get a SIM (check the free SIMS posts on MSE Freebies)
Then send the paperwork off to OSPS recorded delivery.
I've just sent my last lot of paperwork off to OSPS fingers crossed, did not port my number as I did not understand the issues around getting a PAC and terminating the contract.
Read the posts on here about this last week.
Draw up the steps you plan to take and post it up here to be checked.Seth.0 -
why overcomplicate things?
you don't need a PAC - just ask Orange to switch that to payg, then if you want to transfer the number you can do it later
You'll find that Osps will soon phone you to encourage you into a new deal, but that does not affect the cashback0 -
Also with OSPS you send you latest bill after 12 months which is often your 11th bill if you send it off straight away, as your 12th bill may not have arrive by that time.
Not sure if OSPS would know if you cancelled after 11 months though?.0 -
Also looking at porting a number at the end of a 12m cashback. Not with OSPS (thank god!) but still need to return the 12m bill.
Can anyone comment on the following procedure:
* month 11 - advise orange of switch to pay as you go from the end of the contract.
* wait for bill of month 12. (Is this the 12th bill or the 13th? First bill is the end of first month or the opening bill? Line rental gets charged 1 month in advance!)
* Month 12: Call orange and swith to PAYG. This should now be immediate.
* Get another contract and request at PAC from Orange.
* Port number.
TIA for any input!0 -
cpw group - 12th BILL but don't send till after 12 months of being connected
phones2udirect - 1st bill received after 12 months of connection.
In all cases should give notice to cancel contract 30 days prior to 365 days of being connected. This will not invalidate cashback.I think....0 -
thanks! How about mobile phone shop? TIA0

If you mean mobileshop on the voucher I have from them from a contract purchased last May (when you only had to claim 2 cashbacks) it states send the first invoice dated later than 6/12 months after connection - this will be the final invoice for me as I will terminate the account after 12m.
Note the vouchers also state tariff downgrade will invalidate cashback.I think....0
