Take away rant.... what to do?

Hi all, just want to get this off my chest as I'm not sure where to complain to.... I had a new chinese menu through my letter box, and decided to give it a go. It took me a few tries to get through, which I found out that each time I got their answerphone it was charging me 13p connection to say I couldn't speak to them (or leave a message). When I eventually got through I ordered my food and was told it would be 30 - 45 mins. pretty standard. When an hour and 15 mins later it still hadn't arrived I rang again (again costing me again and again to get through to their message saying they were busy, I've spent about £4 on my mobile listening to their machine this evening), only to be told they were on their way. 20 mins later they arrived hurrah! But by this time I was hungry and grumpy and decided to tell the delivery man that I'd been waiting an hour and 35 mins for my food, he kept grinning inanely at me through my rant, and then it became very clear he couldn't understand a word of english. I wanted at least some form of apology to appease me, so I rang what was given to be their head office number (it's a national chain chinese), which actually turned out to be an 087 number based less than a mile from me (or so they said) the woman was pleasant enough answering the phone, when I asked if it was head office I had gotten through to , she told me no, and where it was I had rang, I said well do you have head office number please I would like to make a complaint, she soon recessed into speaking nothing other than I know nothing. I could get no other sense out of her until she said bye and put the telephone down. Now a simple apology about the delay would have placated me, I wouldn't have used them again, but the complete shambles of all this has wound me right up, and I can't find whom to complain to. I have googled the compny name, and found lots of branches, but no hq details.....
grrrr  what do I do?!?!

Well said!!!
Just don't use them again.0 -
I think you should learn to not get so upset over what is a 50 minute delay on top of what they quoted. It doesn't sound like they have the best customer services but that is their choice. If you're unhappy with them, vote with your feet.0

Move on. Don't order from them again.
And in future check https://www.saynoto0870.com before making a call.0 -
It's rare, but not unheard of, for a Chinese Takeaway to use a 0870 number.
Did you call the takeaway direct or was it a Room Service/Concierge type menu? The man without a signature.0 -
Drive to your local M&S food and buy their chinese meal instead. MUCH better than greasy takeaway stuff.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I ordered from them direct.vikingaero wrote: »It's rare, but not unheard of, for a Chinese Takeaway to use a 0870 number.
