Giving out tips from MSE question?

Apologies if this is in the wrong place or has been asked before, I've searched but can't find the answer so would appreciate some help.

I've been telling people at my church about MSE and have got some of them to sign up to the email, use the guides etc and they've asked if I could put a tip each week in the notice sheet - something like one of the tips from the weekly email. I don't want to breach anyone's copyright or anything, is it OK to do this?

I'm thinking of things like the one this week about £100 for a bank account with Alliance and Leicester, or the half price pizza.

Thanks in advance!

I dont think MSE would object to you spreading the information offered, but I wouldnt use the Copy n Paste method, as that would breach a copyright. However I think Martin would not only have no objections to "sharing the wealth", he is the kind of spirited guy who would encourage it. Mse is all about offering advice to anyone who needs it, at no cost. Im sure any of the BG's or Mod's will come along and say likewise on the issue.

Thank you, I thought it would probably be OK, but didn't want to just do it without asking if you know what I mean!

Will see if the Mods or BG have anything to add.
  • I would imagine it would be OK, so long as you named MSE as the provider of the tip, so it didn't appear as though it was someone else's work. A link to the website with a suggestion to sign up for a free email with more tips would probably be "a good price" to pay for publishing the tip, as MSE would get free advertising from you, in return.
