After appalling service from Homeserve (Servowarm) i.e. 6 visits from an engineer over 12 weeks and still the boiler hasn't been fixed, we voiced our concerns to their Customer Service Dept. and were given a laughable offer of redress/compensation. Is there anywhere we could go to take the matter further...........apart from Watchdog?

sorry to hear your having all this trouble!!
1) is your boiler fixed yet??
if not, see if you can find a good local firm/plumber who can come and rectify or inspect the boiler on your behalf, get them to make a report on what the poblem is:(expect to be charged for this)
2) get them to fix the problem for you and get them to leave a detailed list of the problems they found and rectified ect
3) take all this information to homeserve and demand (politly) that they refund the cost of the plumbers bill, + compensation+ refund of the years premium
4) also ask for a formal writen explination of why there were unable to rectify your boiler and see if this talies up with what your local guy has found/fixed
if they don't want to refund your costs ect, i sugest your next port of call would be to your nearest trading standards office and make enquires about the poor service you have recived.
by the way, inform homeserve that you intend to employ your own plumber ect, and you'll be sending them the bill ect, this may spur them on to send someone out who can rectify the problem for you!
