Wow, I bet when you woke up this morning you would never have imagined all this happening today.
Your story saddened me a little bit, I just want you to be able to post on here that you have found somewhere to live......
Then I will be happy for you.... ;)

Am I correct in thinking that I was unbelievably luck in how quick, smooth and stress free it was? I am really shocked at how easy and pain free it was + The Judge was a really nice lady I sat and hat a great chat with about how bad the state of the economy is.

I really hope everyone else is having a similar experience to me in relation to the bankruptcy!

You have been lucky and i did all my paperwork over a weekend and filed on the monday as my court offered a drop in system.

I found the process easy but the hard work is after. Living on benefits, trying to find a job some where to live and getting back on your feet is very hard i have find but you do really find out who are your real friends are and if its like me it bought you closer to your family too.

I don't know if we would all think it was lucky that you were offered your appt like that ..... a lot of us would have needed more time to prepare both mentally and physically!
You are obviously the sort of person who takes the bull by the horns and cracks on. I know when I rang to make my appt just before Christmas
I was offered the 6th Jan and it was too early for me and I booked the 12th instead.
It does seem to be a painfree and smooth process for people, I agree.... the only person I have found a bit "stuffy" was the Court Usher and that just may have been the nature of her job.

Ditto SA - my court usher was a bit formal and stuffy too - must go with the job! ;)

Thanks for the kind words SA,

Yes I do like to get things done and im not easily intimidated afterbeing in a failing business has toughened me up to being in the firing line.

The biggest thing I have learned is to always be positive, even in the most dire circumstances and to always move forward and get things done as quickly as possible.

Lack of decision leads to losing control of your own life, losing control leads to fear and fear leads down a terrible road of low self esteem. I'm speaking from experience. I am a different person now - Positive, proactive and disciplined. I took control quickly after advice and made sure my bankruptcy was smooth and quick. Serendipity?

I will get back on my feet quickly, find somewhere to live and will start a new business which will be successful as I have learned A LOT of lessons from this one. In all honesty I wouldn't change a thing as it has been a very valuable experience.

I have included my favourite quote of all time which is absolutely true:
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy; the chance to draw back; always ineffectiveness concerning all acts of initiative and creation. There is one elemental truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: That the moment one commits oneself, providence moves all. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issue from the decision, raising in ones favour all manner of incidents and meetings and material assistance which no one could have dreamed would come his or her way”

Good on you ............. My self esteem seemed to disappear with my bank balance, but things are looking up now, not least by the fact that I can afford to eat now!!!!
    Good Luck for 2009
