virginmedia problems

Have been with virginmedia for ages but following a recent house move I asked for the services to be transferred.
But due to virginmedia having the new property as not connectable the transfer got delayed. I resolved this issue and somebody from retentions was going to call me back.
But this never happened and it has been more than a month now.
Now when I tried to get my services transferred virginmedia say it has been longer than a month since the virginmedia services got cancelled so I am no longer eligible for the good retention offers I had and have to join as a new customer and pay for a new V+ box as well  .
Apart from going with sky is there a way I can escalate this issue with virginmedia.

They have good retention offers? I couldn't get one." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."
