just wondering can you request to go onto csa2? (on csa1 at the mo)

does the nrp get to know when they are moving the case over? i read on the csa website that a letter will be sent to the PWC but not to the NRP, so will they at least get to know when they are moving case?

    thanks,

Claire if you are PWC you can request it by closing case and waiting 13 weeks and then reclaiming. If yu are an NRP then you can't I'm afraid.
  • Advice needed please.
I have a private agreement with my ex wife reguarding maintenance payments for our three children which we both agreed on however, i am taking all the kids on holiday for two weeks (a family booked holiday that she backed out of after the split) and i suggested that i only pay her half payment for this month and she went mental! Am i right? If i am wrong then i have no problem in paying< just wondered what you thought.
    Thanks.

    It's a tricky one.

On the one hand you can argue that CS is for the children so therefore if the children aren't there then should the full amont be paid? On the other hand however, you could also argue that the bills don't get to be halved for the time the children are out of the house.

Something to think about is that is this was a case through the CSA then you certainly wouldn't get to pay half for the time you and the children are on holiday.

She clearly isn't happy and I suppose you have to ask yourself whether it is worth the potential aggro for not paying the full amount ot whether you should not pay the full amount in principle.

For what it's worth, I am a PWC and if my ex was paying me CS and was taking my child on holiday (oh look, flying pigs!!!:p) and suggested what you have suggested then I would think that was a fair compromise.
  • It has taken me 15 years to finally get the CSA to get the baliffs out to my ex for a £6000 bill of arrears, will I at any point be allowed to compensation? If I had received this money over the years and put it in the bank, would I of earned interest? YES.
Do you think I have a legal right to take the CSA to court for the delay in my case, I have 3 folders full of letters etc.

Sorry if I have changed the subject.

    Hi Everyone,
I'm new on here, but have been dealing with the CSA for nearly 10 yrs now, and in that time i haven't had many pleasant experiences with them!.
Recently my circumstances changed when i moved in with my Childhood Sweetheart and her daughters aged 9 and 5 (Happy Days) and so requested a Reassessment.
The reassessment landed on our doorstep on Sat 6th June and turned out to be a Nil Assessment (I was previously paying £475 pcm)
due to the fact that if i was to pay the CS fee of £30 p/w that they had calculated, this would put me under my protected earnings amount.
I then rang my case worker to inquire about paying off my arrears and asked how much they would be looking for me to pay back p/m, at which point she said approx £400 p/m :0S??????? Is it me or does this not make sense due to my Protected Earnings threshhold? As if i was to pay this amount i would be paying £100 p/w, £70 p/w more than the £30 p/w they had assessed me to pay and subsequently AGAIN putting me even further under my protected earnings threshold!!!!!
    I'm well and truly confused.com
    Please Help :0(

How much arrears do you have?

£10,396 :( thats coz when myself and my Ex split she did alot of nasty stuff i.e. text me saying my eldest son (now 16) had been in a RTA and was dead !!!! still gets to me now, so to make her suffer i used to change jobs on a regular basis, not understanding at the time all i was doing was making my kids suffer, but i've grown up alot since then, plus i was taken to court and recieved a 2yr suspended sentence , it's all my fault for the arrears that i owe, i was just cutting my nose off to spite my face.
Anyway, i recieved a letter off of the CSA today telling me they had reassessed me due to my arrears and the outcome is,
I have to pay £23.57p/m for my arrears but still have to pay £0.00 CS due to my low income, At last the CSA have got something right , it's only took them 10 yrs!!!!!! :j
