I folowed Martins advise and used AVG for internet security on an old laptop we have got. As Im not very informed about these things I followed the instructions and thought I had to get an extra addition to get the securityfrom a wide varietyof choices(including Lovefilm),so I chose to get emusic downloads which was £4.99 a month by direct debit.I thought I would cancel the direct debit not bother with the downloads and that would be that. However this morning I have had £10.99 taken from my account by Debit Card. Does anyone have any information about emusic and can they debit my account when they said "by Direct Debit"
sorry if Ive rambled on a bit

That made no sense to me whatsoever!
What EXACTLY have you done? You have a 'paid' for version of AVG or the free one? And how how have gone about it?
Can you send me a link to this 'emusic' your talking about, as ive never even heard of them:idea:0 -

Thats the bit thats got me most confused. Exactly what do you mean by that? Youve 'signed up' to something just to get AVG?:idea:0 -
OK I know Ive not explaine it very well,I signed up and then it gave me a choice of several companys to get "extra security" so I chose the cheapest option which was emusic thinking as Ive said I could cancel easily.Whats upset me is them taking money from my account instead of a direct debit.Im just going to find the link for emusic its on the other laptop .0

Sounds highly suspicious to me, I have never heard of anything like this before.

It was the official site I used the link from here. Ive now downloaded the emusic website on the other computer and they seem legit even though they have taken my money I now have 30 downloads of music
this is the site http://www.emusic.com/ anyone know them?0 -
I suspect it's similar, if not the same to this: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=911643&highlight=emusic
nooney - ring your bank and cancel any direct debits you've got with emusic
Then ring emusic and demand a refund - http://www.emusic.com/contact/billing_preamble.html
Then uninstall AVG and install a different anti-virus such as Avira AntiVir or Avast0 -
Thanks but I think I will stick with AVG now as its my fault I shouldnt have signed up to anything else, Im going to try and get my money back but I dont hold out too much hope. Its not a direct debit though they took the money by Debit Card!0

Well if you want a sub-standard poor AV stick with AVG. I certainly wouldn't. And as for the money I wouldn't stop until I got it back. Simple as that.0 -
Oh which is the best then, I was following the reccomendation from this site, I have no idea about these things,
thanks0
