I supose I was thinking that if a specific trust had performed well over the last year that it would be a good indicator of how well it would perform in the near future ?
It's never a really good idea to base an Investment decision purely on past performance, even if that performance is recent. Nothing stays constant in the markets, and what worked last month might be the worst idea in the history of worst ideas next month.

That's good information.. Being a novice in this area I was hoping for an easy way to invest and take advantage of what I think is an inevitable return to form.
Thanks to your advice I now realise what I already suspected and that is I am going to have to put some research time in if I want to make a good choice.
I supose all that I have left to ask tentaviley is where is a good place to start.
